Privacy Policy for Unfriended

Unfriended (“the app”) is designed to work on your device from data that you provide. This policy explains, in plain language, what the app does and does not do with your information.

The short version

Unfriended does not collect, store on our servers, sell, or share any of your personal data — we have no servers and no account system.

There are no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third‑party tracking. Your Facebook data is analyzed and stored only on your iPhone. The app itself makes no network connections; the only exception is the optional in‑app purchase, which is handled entirely by Apple (see Purchases below).

Your Facebook data

The app works from the official data export that you request and download from Facebook yourself (“Download your information” in Accounts Centre). When you import that file into the app:

• It is read and analyzed entirely on your device.
• The results — your friends, detected unfriends, name changes, removed friends, friend requests, followers, and related lists — are stored only on your device in the app’s private storage.
• This information is never uploaded to us or to any third party. We have no server that could receive it, and the developer has no access to it.
• You control it completely: erase everything at any time with the Reset All Data button, or by deleting the app.

No network access for your data

Unfriended makes no network requests carrying your data. It has no online features, fetches nothing, and sends none of your information anywhere. Your Facebook data cannot leave your device through the app. The only network activity is the App Store purchase described below, which is performed by Apple's own systems and contains none of your imported data.

Information you enter

The app does not ask you to create an account or enter personal details such as your name, email, or password. Any actions you take within the app — for example dismissing an entry from a list — are stored locally on your device and are not sent anywhere.

Purchases

Unfriended is free to use, with a single optional one‑time in‑app purchase that unlocks the two change‑detection lists (“No longer friends” and “Changed their name”). Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. The app does not receive, store, or process your payment details, credit card number, or Apple ID. The app stores only a local flag recording whether the unlock has been purchased. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's own privacy policy (apple.com/legal/privacy).

Analytics, advertising, and tracking

The app contains no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. It does not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA), does not employ any third‑party analytics or advertising SDKs, and does not follow you across other apps or websites.

Data retention and deletion

Because all of your data is stored only on your device, you are always in control of it:

• Dismiss individual entries from within the app at any time.
• Tap Reset All Data to permanently erase all imported data and detection history at once.
• Deleting the app from your iPhone permanently removes all of its data.

The developer holds no copy of your data and therefore cannot access, restore, or delete it on your behalf.

Children’s privacy

Unfriended is not directed to children under 13, and the app does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone of any age, as it collects no personal data at all.

Unfriended is an independent application and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Facebook or Meta Platforms, Inc. “Facebook” is a trademark of Meta Platforms, Inc.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same address with a revised effective date. Material changes will also be reflected in the app’s App Store listing.
