Privacy Policy for Unfollowers for Instagram

Unfollowers for Instagram (“the app”) is designed to work on your device from data that you provide. This policy explains, in plain language, what the app does and does not do with your information.

The short version

Unfollowers does not collect, store on our servers, sell, or share any of your personal data — we have no servers and no account system.

There are no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third‑party tracking. Your Instagram data is analyzed and stored only on your iPhone. The app makes no network connection using your data except one optional feature you trigger yourself, described below.

Your Instagram data

The app works from the official data export that you request and download from Instagram yourself (“Download your information”). When you import that file into the app:

• It is read and analyzed entirely on your device.
• The results — your followers, following, unfollowers, blocks, pending requests, and related lists — are stored only on your device in the app’s private storage.
• This information is never uploaded to us or to any third party. We have no server that could receive it, and the developer has no access to it.
• You control it completely: erase everything at any time with the Reset All Data button, or by deleting the app.

The optional “Verify profiles” feature

To tell a block apart from a deleted or deactivated account, the app can check whether specific accounts still exist. This is the only feature that uses the network, and it runs only when you tap “Verify profiles.” When you do:

• The app makes anonymous requests to Instagram’s public web endpoint, without logging in and without any account credentials.
• Each request sends only the username being checked to Instagram/Meta’s servers — never your identity, your name, your other data, or your device identifiers.
• No cookies are stored and no browsing data is retained between checks.

As with any request to any website, your device’s IP address is necessarily visible to Instagram/Meta’s servers while this feature runs. Their handling of that request is governed by Instagram’s own privacy policy. If you never use this feature, the app makes no network requests involving your data at all.

Information you enter

The app does not ask you to create an account or enter personal details such as your name, email, or password. Any actions you take within the app — for example dismissing an entry from a list — are stored locally on your device and are not sent anywhere.

Purchases

Unfollowers offers a single optional one‑time in‑app purchase that unlocks all features. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. The app does not receive, store, or process your payment details, credit card number, or Apple ID. The app stores only a local flag recording whether the unlock has been purchased. Apple’s handling of your purchase is governed by Apple’s own privacy policy.

Analytics, advertising, and tracking

The app contains no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. It does not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA), does not employ any third‑party analytics or advertising SDKs, and does not follow you across other apps or websites.

Data retention and deletion

Because all of your data is stored only on your device, you are always in control of it:

• Dismiss individual entries from within the app at any time.
• Tap Reset All Data to permanently erase all imported data, detection history, and verification results at once.
• Deleting the app from your iPhone permanently removes all of its data.

The developer holds no copy of your data and therefore cannot access, restore, or delete it on your behalf.

Children’s privacy

Unfollowers is not directed to children under 13, and the app does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone of any age, as it collects no personal data at all.

Unfollowers for Instagram is an independent application and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Instagram or Meta Platforms, Inc. “Instagram” is a trademark of Meta Platforms, Inc.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same address with a revised effective date. Material changes will also be reflected in the app’s App Store listing.
