Privacy Policy for LifeTrends

LifeTrends (“the app”) is designed to work entirely on your device. This policy explains, in plain language, what the app does and does not do with your information.

The short version

LifeTrends does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data.

There are no accounts, no servers, no analytics, no advertising, and no third‑party tracking. The app makes no network connections of its own, other than Apple's App Store for optional purchases. All of your health information and everything the app derives from it stays on your iPhone.

Health data (Apple Health / HealthKit)

With your permission, LifeTrends reads health and fitness data from Apple Health to find patterns in it. Depending on what you have recorded and which categories you enable, this may include: steps, walking and running distance, flights climbed, exercise minutes, resting heart rate, heart‑rate variability, respiratory rate, blood oxygen, blood pressure, active energy, dietary energy (logged calories), body weight, body fat percentage, time in daylight, and sleep.

This data is read only to compute the trends, charts, and correlations shown to you inside the app. Specifically:

• All analysis happens on your device. Your health data is never uploaded, transmitted, sold, or shared with the developer or any third party.
• LifeTrends does not use your health data for advertising or marketing, and does not share it with third parties for advertising or data‑mining.
• Access is read‑only. The app never writes to, alters, or deletes anything in Apple Health.
• You choose which categories the app may read, both in Apple's Health permission screen and in the app's own Settings tab, where you can switch any variable off at any time. When a variable is off, the app does not read it.

Photos (location and date metadata only)

If you grant photo access, LifeTrends reads only the date and location (GPS) metadata attached to your photos — never the images themselves. It uses this to estimate where you were on given days so it can find place‑based patterns (for example, how your activity differs when you travel).

• The app does not open, display, upload, copy, or analyze the content of your pictures. It reads each photo's timestamp and coordinate and nothing else.
• Location matching is performed offline, against a list of cities built into the app. No map, geocoding, or location service is contacted, so not even an approximate location request ever leaves your iPhone.
• Photo access is optional. Without it, the app still finds weekday, seasonal, and time‑of‑day patterns from your health data.

Information processed on your device

The trends, statistics, charts, and correlations LifeTrends produces — along with any preferences you set, such as your chosen home city or which metrics are enabled — are computed and stored locally on your iPhone using Apple's on‑device storage. This information is not sent anywhere and is not accessible to the developer.

Purchases

LifeTrends offers an optional one‑time in‑app purchase (“LifeTrends Pro”) that unlocks the Statistics tab and analysis of Health history older than two years. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. The app does not receive, store, or process your payment details. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.

Analytics, advertising, and tracking

The app contains no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. It does not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA), does not employ any third‑party SDKs, and does not follow you across other apps or websites.

Data retention and deletion

Because all data is stored only on your device, you are always in control of it:

• Turn off any health category in the app's Settings, or revoke Health or Photos access at any time in the iOS Settings app; the app immediately stops reading that data.
• Deleting the app from your iPhone permanently removes all of the data it created, including your preferences and any locally stored results.

The developer holds no copy of your data and therefore cannot access, restore, or delete it on your behalf.

Not a medical device

LifeTrends is intended for personal reflection and interest only. It shows patterns in your own recorded data and is not a medical device, and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified health professional about your health.

Children's privacy

LifeTrends does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same address with a revised effective date.
